I just began playing with the parent image with a paint program, and this image was the result after a lot of layering, filtering, and general mucking about. The concept behind the piece -- quantum physics says it's possible in theory to create "wormholes" that can function as a time-travel device. The person in this picture is using a wormhole to go from one dimension to another -- and in doing so, it looks like he's causing the universe to collapse in on itself or something very unpleasant like that.
